Julia first discovered Forró in 2001 whilst studying Capoeira in London. She was moved so much by the joy of dancing that she searched all over Brazil for more and eventually set up a Forró night in Manchester where she was living at the time.
She has been training and sharing her skills ever since, joining her brother, Andy, in London and together founding Forró Family that has now become one of the most popular nights in London.
Julia has taught at numerous festivals in the UK, including Colourfest, Buddhafields and Beatherder.
She has also held workshops in other Forró cities such as Cambridge and Lewes and runs regular weekly classes and courses in London and Brighton.
